Curriculum

Rich in Marianist tradition, students at St. Mary's High School are encouraged to explore their minds and grow not only academically but personally, spiritually and athletically. However, it is St. Mary’s approach to teaching academics that is the best-kept secret in Catholic Education.

St. Mary’s focus for the last several years has been translating the current brain research on the male adolescent brain and incorporating a differentiated approach to instruction to reach and teach every student that enters their doors. Not only has St. Mary's expanded their curriculum to include more hands-on and experiential learning opportunities, but St. Mary's commitment to professional development combined with faculty's weekly professional learning teams with the consultation of Jane E. Pollock has created an exciting and novel approach to education.

St. Mary's Curriculum Guide is an ongoing live document that is reviewed, changed and updated every year. St. Mary's is moving toward Standards Based Grading in which students are assessed on whether they meet certain Standards and Benchmarks in each course. More information to come!
