St. Mary's South Side Catholic High School is a college preparatory high school that challenges students academically and ensures they are ready for college. 
Parish administrators will share the link to the Archdiocesan portal for online applications for Parish school students ONLY). The portal opens on the first Monday in October and closes on the second Monday in November. Through the portal, students will list their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice for high school admission. Your parish principal sends your academic transcripts to the students’ 1st choice school. We mail acceptance letters in late January or the first of February.
Eighth-grade students who attend a public elementary or private Non-Catholic school must complete a St. Mary's South Side Catholic Application for Admission (download and complete the application at the bottom of this page, or complete the online version).

St. Mary’s will need the following records to decide on acceptance:
 
  • Academic Transcripts (last three years of records)
  • Standardized Testing scores (i.e., MAP, Iowa Basic, etc.), if applicable
  • Discipline Records (if there are no disciplinary issues, the school needs to indicate so)
  • Attendance Records
  • A Personal Interview 
  • Class placement is based on grades, standardized test scores, and the placement test. St. Mary's accepts students from all religions and all types of schools.
