Athletics are co-curricular to the school's program of education which provides experiences that will help each young man develop physically, mentally, spiritually, socially and emotionally.   • Golf

    Playing in the very competitive Archdiocesan Athletic Conference, the St. Mary's Golf Team  has had a record of success over the years and has sent a number of players to the Missouri State Golf Championships in that time.  The golf team is open to players of all abilities and skill levels.   • Hockey

    St. Mary’s High School's Ice Hockey team is a club sport and is run through the Mid-States Club Hockey Association. St. Mary's Hockey Club is looking for students who play or would like to play ice hockey.  There is a Varsity and a "B" Team (development team).  The B Team can include interested 7th or 8th grade students.   • Roller Hockey

    St. Mary’s High School's Roller Hockey team is a club sport. It is not backed by the Missouri State High School Activities Association; however, it is run through the Missouri Inline Hockey Association. Read more

  • Soccer

    St. Mary's High School soccer has a history of winning. The soccer season usually begins in August with the first official day of practice and games begin around September 1st and run through October. However, summer camps and training take place in the month of July. Read more

  • Tennis

    The St. Mary's High School tennis program was initiated in 1985 by Mr. Art Grimes. After 2 years, Bro McCarthy continued the program. Frank Sohm became head coach of the Tennis Team in 1989. St. Mary’s has been AAA champions in the following years: 1989, 1990, 1993, 1994, 1996, 1997, 1998 (co champs with Kennedy), 2001, 2004, 2006 and 2007. This leads the AAA teams in championships.   • Track and Field

    The St. Mary’s Track and Field team has a history of excellence dating back to Robert Rumping’s 1954 State Championship in the discus – the 1st State Championship in the history of St. Mary’s High School. In more recent history, the Dragons’ 2001 4x800m relay team of Missey, Cacciatore, Zwilling and Hannigan earned gold medals at the State meet. Read more

  • Wrestling

    The first St. Mary's High School wrestling team boasted 20 participants. In only their second year, St. Mary's wrestling team went on to win the AAA Conference Championship and boasted a state qualifier for wrestling. Read more

  • Volleyball

    St. Mary’s High School has one of the most elite volleyball programs in the state. The team has been led by Coach Johnny Chittakhone for over fifteen years. During this tenure, the team has won 5 state championships (including a three peat from 2006-2008) has placed second 3 times and finished in third place one time. Read more
