The Learning Consultant Program 
 

The role of the Learning Consultant is to:

  • Identify the students diagnosed with a Learning Disability, Attention Deficit Disorder, and other learning differences.

  • Conduct screenings for students experiencing school failure for the purpose of a diagnostic referral.

  • Develop a learning profile for each of the students identified with a disability.

  • Review learning profiles with teachers and provide recommendations for accommodations for instruction, learning, and assessment within the classroom.

  • Monitor the implementation of strategies by teachers.

  • Monitor the performance of students and their success with the recommended strategies or accommodations.

  • Maintain communication and serve as a resource to teachers, parents, tutors, and other professionals outside of the school setting.

  • Participate as a member of the care team to intervene with students who may be struggling.
