SAFE ENVIRONMENT PROGRAM
The Safe Environment Program was developed by the Archdiocese of St. Louis to provide a framework to cooperate with parents, civil authorities, educators, and community organizations to make and maintain a safe environment for children. After you have reported to the MO Department of Social Services – Children’s Division, victims of sexual abuse are asked to come forward to receive pastoral assistance. Reports of abuse may be made to any Pastor or to:

EMPLOYEES AND VOLUNTEERS
The Safe Environment Program requires that all adult employees, volunteers, religious, priests and deacons who work with or near minors, regardless of frequency or duration, to self-register online. During the registration process, registrants are required to complete the following:
1. Agree to a national criminal background screening, as well as agree to subsequent background screenings every three months
2. View two training videos on Reporting Child Abuse and The Code of Conduct
3. Provide an electronic signature for the Ethical Code of Conduct for Clergy, Employees and Volunteers Working with Minors
4. Attend a Protecting God’s Children workshop and update their training as requested by the Archdiocese.
