Merit Scholarships

 

St. Mary’s South Side Catholic High School offers a variety of scholarships for incoming students. These scholarships are based on the Characteristics of Marianist Education and embody what we believe St. Mary's South Side Catholic Men are.

 

• Student must be involved in a youth group
• Student must actively assist/serve with worship services at his place of worship
• $1,000 and renewable every year if the student

• Student must score in the 90% and above on core/complete composite of standardized testing
• $2,000 and renewable every year if the student

• Student is the son or grandson of alumni of St. Mary’s High School who is active in the Alumni Association
• $1,000 and renewable every year if the student

• Student is actively involved in service at a charitable/community organization outside of school
• $1,000 and renewable every year if the student

• Student who has gone through some type of traumatic or life-changing event within the last 2 years
• Only one scholarship is awarded each year 
• $3,000 and renewable every year if the student

St. Mary’s also provides scholarships to students who excel in a particular area. Only one of each of the following scholarships will be awarded each year.

STEM SCHOLARSHIP 

• Student scores in the 90% or above in Math and Science Standardized Testing
• $3,000 and renewable every year if student

• Student plays a musical instrument and is an active participant in either his school band or an outside music group
• $2,000 and renewable every year if the student

• Student who is artistically talented and/or involved in theatre
• $2,000 and renewable every year if the student

• Student who is actively involved in Boy Scouts
• $2,000 and renewable every year if the student (at time of registration)
